Work Pakages

WP1 – Activity Management. Leader: Prima Additive
WP1 will take care of all the management activities.
WP2 – Market strategy and dissemination. Leader: Prima Additive
WP2 will regard all exploitation activities, i.e. marketing aspects and divulgation of scientific results.
– T2.1 Market strategy
– T2.2 Dissemination in publications, conferences or events
– T2.3 Training activities for students, demos SMEs
– T2.4 IPR Agreement
WP3 – Specifications – Leader: Prima Additive
In WP3, all the partners will evaluate relevant industrial scenarios where the developed solution is a key enabling technology, and identify the
requirements of these use-cases. Examples are repair applications in turbine, marine and pump industry.
– T3.1 Definition of industrial use cases (potential customer application)
– T3.2 Material and components specifications (reference parts)
– T3.3 Definition of target quality KPIs (measurement accuracy, threshold for minimal and maximal deviations)
WP4 – Shape measurement system – Leader: SUPSI
In WP4, the partners will match typical geometric and material flaws with appropriate measurement technologies, to select among the available ones the
most promising solutions to achieve the target KPI of the reference industrial applications. This includes the decision on their usability for a reliable and
efficient industrial utilization, on which machines to use and how to integrate them (mechanical integration, calibration, data logging facilities). Moreover,
raw data from sensors will be processed to generate defect geometries, that will be aligned and compared to the nominal ones.
– T4.1 Equipment selection
– T4.2 Integration
– T4.3 Geometry generation and comparison
WP5 – Experimental campaign – Leader: SUPSI
In WP5, the measurement campaign is designed for the reference machines and applications. The experimentation will support all the technical
development work packages (WP4, WP6 and WP7) to validate their results on target KPIs defined in WP3, in phases of increasing complexity.
– T5.1 Design of experiment
– T5.2 Measurement and analysis of basic features
– T5.3 Measurement and analysis of reference parts
-T5.4 Validation

WP6 – Toolpath generation – Leader: INSPIRE
In WP6, INSPIRE will evaluate a set of toolpath generation methods and assess their effectiveness on reference parts measured and repaired in WP5. The
toolpath generation will be based on the so􀅌ware AdaOne, whose development for the target 5-axis machine will be subcontracted to Adaxis and
supervised by Inspire. Moreover, tool path generation will be integrated with the geometry measurement module and with the machine, by developing a
post processor for the target machines. The development will focus primarily on the generation of tool paths for DED, which is the most critical enabling
technology for a repair pipeline.
– T6.1 Development of tool path strategies for repairing
– T6.2 Integration with target machines (post processing)
– T6.3 Testing and validation on features and reference parts
WP7 – Repair process simulation – Leader: EngineSoft
In WP7, EnginSoft will set up a simulation environment for repairing process, in terms of material deposition with DED process and display actual vs
desired geometry as validation tool for the user.
– T7.1 Analysis of considered use cases
– T7.2 Set-up of suitable model to simulate the repairing process
– T7.3 Validation of simulation tool on use case examples
